Being a teenage boy myself, I can understand how you came to that conclusion. I agree that these movies are sickening and although I don't think they should be outright banned, stricter limitations should be set. However, rest assured that the majority of teenage boys (myself included) are disgusted by rape and do in fact have respect for women.

"I Spit on Your Grave"is also known as"I hate Your Guts", "The Rape and Revenge of Jennifer Hill" and the Director's personal favorite, "Day of the Woman".
It has been banned through out most of the world since 1981. In 2002 it was rereleased with a 18+ classification. It has also been the instigation for countless articles, discussions and scholarly works. It is the story of how a Woman is empowered after Her sexual assault, and the lengths to which She goes to seek Her revenge.
It has done more to bring to light the crime of rape than any other motion picture. It is the type propoganda that should be used whenever Women's rights are being challenged. You would have realised that had You bothered to do Your homework. But alas no. You preferred to make generalizations instead. So now answer this:
Why don't 'They' ban all movies, telemovies, screenplays, stage productions, novels etc in which there as depictions of gratuitous acts of violence perpetrated against Men?
Why don't 'they' ban any for of entertainment where Male characters are shot, stabbed, kneed, punched, kicked, bitten, pinched or in any way struck or touched in the groin or genital area?
Why don't "they" ban the depiction of 'penile' mutilation, quasi-emasculation, pseudo-castration, physical assault or 'impotence' analogy in advertising?
Not a day goes by where some image is not broadcast that vilifies, belittles, humiliates, insults, demeans, torments, outrages or angers Men but no one seems to care about Our feelings and rights.
Come on, where is Your answer to that one? And what do You propose to do to rectify the huge anti Male bias in the way culture views the genitals of the two sexes?

Uh, if the men you know watch those movies because they enjoy watching the bad things done to the women, I think you need to find some new men to put in your life, and get rid of the old ones. I don't know a single male that enjoys watching women get raped or tortured in those types of movies.

Ok, i didn't see "I spit on your grave". I saw it in the store and I was asking lets get this movie and my partner said you don't want to get that movie. I saw "a Clock work orange" and thats one of the top rated rape movies. Then I saw "the Accused" with Jodie Foster and Its kinda deep so be prepared to watch it if you didn't already. I like the ending though because she found justice after all. I think maybe if we keep it on market maybe that'll change the world so you never know.

I don't agree with you. Those movies are commonly called "Rape, Revenge" movies in the industry. Another notable example is "the last house on the left". Yes there is violence done to a women in that genre but the women always picks her self up and have revenge on the very deserving perpetrators.
I don't think that those movies are trying to promote violence towards women, In fact they are denouncing that violence. It is done in a very graphic way to make a point and shock people.

I'm of two minds about these types of movies. On one hand, I'm a firm believer of free speech and freedom of expression, so I don't think that ANY movie should be "banned."
However, we seem to live in a culture where violence against women is a normal part of cinematic art, and I do find this to be problematic. I haven't seen "I Spit on your Grave," but I'm thinking more of slasher/horror films, where the slaughter of women is portrayed as somehow "sexy."
Even seeing the television ads for movies like "Captivity" is extremely disturbing to me.

Irreversible has a 10 minute actual-time rape scene which does no longer decrease away in any respect. Se7en has a character (no longer seen, yet nonetheless twisted up) compelled to rape a prostitute with a knife. 8mm is likewise fairly hectic.

I wouldn't they're harmful. I'm a female and I love that movie, but as was said before, they're revenge movies. I mean the bathtub scene in there? Didn't you watch that? She gets her own
