I would take nothing back for evolution is pre-determined, only when we understand something can we use it, they don't understand science so electricity woud scare them, for they ebeleived the world was flat and the sun moved around the earth, those who challenged this opinion where persecuted, DVD's would probably make them think your a witch or devil and they'd kill you. Immunisation and medicine would mean a greater population now because people back then they wouldn't have died and they would have made more children. How about we take back a greater communal understanding and the idea that we should educate our children to the best of their abilities

The thing is with taking things back in time is that you also need to take a lot of other technology back with you. For instance, if you were to take back solar energy, how would they store it? how would they transfer it? How would they power a dvd and how would they watch it? What you need to take back is an invention that would be transferable on to the existing technology. If you were to go back in time to a time when they had muskets you would take back the knowledge of rifling the barrel to increase accuracy. Small steps are easier to make than giant strides.
