i've heard it's true from those who've had near death experiences. but truly, only the dead would know for sure and they're not talking.

Life can leave the body not only through the eyes but through any one of the nine gates of the body. The body is called a nine-gated city in Hindu Sastra. Some of the other gates are the mouth, the anus, the ears, the nose, etc. Life can pass out through any of these gates.
Not one second, it may take even more time in some cases.

I've never heard there was a one second time limit but yes I think it's true we do go through a kind of life review when we die. May explain why death is so peaceful for some and less for others.

10 years ago i been near to death drowning, then i saw , like a movie , going very fast backwards , all my life !
So , after they save me

this is one question that we will never know the answer to until we get there....
lets hope it takes a long time to get there so it will take more than one second to re-see yr life!

If this is true, then it means that we only need to take care of our actions and words spoken in our life. Our thoughts are secondary.

No, it is not true. As you get older you begin to remember things you never thought you would and things that you would rather not remember.
It happens in increments as you get older and your short term memory shorter and you are nearing the end of your life.

what i know is when time of dead come the soul begin to leave the body in an ascending matter: feet..leg..thigh..abdomen..chest..and finally it get out of body but i dont know where exactelly it out from...that explain why the last thing that any one dead do is take deep breath i try to return his soul back
