i used to own an old mazda rx7 the engine and ancillaries take up a lot of space under bonnet.think thats why the front end on one was so long.good idea in theory but i would think about using a different motor.good luck.ps rx7 rear wheel drive and the exhaust is huge.and cost nearly 2k from mazda.

e Mr. Bean so let's see if I can come up with a Mr. Bean answer.... Well you could find the 'Borrowers' or the machine used in 'Honey I Shrunk The Kids' to shrink down some people.... if even to add to the number of Borrowers since there never were many of them. Alternatively, you could use the machine from 'Honey I Blew Up The Kids' to enlarge the mini. A Mr. Bean approach? To paint a picture of the mini on a building and get people to go in there. Will the idea actually be made into a sketch for the next Mr. Bean? He could go to a EFL school and come out with a la

The rotary engine is very compact. I doubt you will have a problem. At a "drive-in" I saw a VW squareback with an STi engine bolted to a VW bus tranny, and I've seen 5l Mustang v8s crammed into Miatas (coincidentally w/ RX7 rear ends). If you are competent to even contemplate the project I don't think it will be difficult at all.

Taking a small car front wheel drive and puting a very complex twin turbo RX-7 rear wheel drive engine into it What the RX-7 not good enough? Your about to build up something that is complicated gauges lighting and brake and clutch are not out in the open like on a tryke. Hope you have a lot of time on your hands... Good luck

Ford 4 cylinder with a tuned evo boost puts out like 200+. You are going to have to change all the suspension and you need to also see if the amazing of power can be held by the frame. I've seen people put honda vtec as well
Look up "petrolicous" on youtube they have a mini enthusiast on one of their episodes. He has a shop and you can call and they can give assistance with anything from fenders to motors

you could try a motorbike engine. I have seen a mini in a mag that had a tuned Kawasaki ZZR 1100 engine...went like greased weasel poo off a shovel!
Now a Hayabusa engine would be interesting!
Or hows about sticking a ford V6, BMW V6 or a rover V8 in the rear??

Rotary engines require a completely different set up to a conventional engine, so I'd consider something else as a power unit....

I'm not sure if that would be feasible. However, I have seen a mini with a V8 implant so who knows. Best of luck with that and I bet if you manage to pull it off that little mini would fly :)
