This is a tough one. I will have to throw two teams into the running. The Baltimore Ravens because of a strong defense and finally a consistent offense. They do have downfalls. Can they continue to pound the ball? Is the def. getting to old and the loss of Adalius Thomas too much? The other team would be the New York Jets. They too have a few questions, but they easily compete at the same level as the Ravens, Colts, and Chargers. Their def. improved vastly at the end of the season to become one of the better in the league. The offense with the addition of Thomas Jones to take the load will preform at a consistent level. Plus they have one of the top minds in football in Mancini. It's great to see him match wits with Bellichek. I think that the Patriots are far and away the best team in football. Everyone needs to be gunning for them.

The Baltimore Ravens finally got the talent to make a super bowl run. Last year they aquirred Steve Mcnair. The Ravens got 2 backups in Kyle Boller and Troy Smith the Heisman winner. The Ravens signed Willis McGahee. The Ravens have solid recievers in Derek Mason and Mark Clayton. The Ravens good o line lead 6ft 8in 340lb left tackle Johnathan Odgen. The Ravens have an awesome defensive line with Terrell Suggs, Trevor Price, and Haloti Ngata. Linebacker Ray (I'll make your quarterback pay) Lewis leads this defense. Baltimore has a sweet secondary led by cornerback Chris McCalister and strong safety Ed Reed. I predict the Ravens will finish 11-5. I think the Chargers are the 4th best team their schedule is too tough to beat the Broncos their going to face the Colts in a wild card game on the road or if they win the division they will host Pittsburgh as a 4 seed. Thats just what I belive were all entitled to our own opinions.

the Ravens behind the Pats Chargers and Colts respectively. I no i no you guys think I'm an idiot for putting the Chargers in front of the colts but does anyone remember the Colts defense last year in the regular season? Atrocious, i no in the playoffs they stepped it up but teams have stacked up on offensive power (at least the good ones) and the colt wont have a chance. Also all you people saying the Bengals stop its really getting me angry. You guys really think they can be the # 4 team in the AFC with a **** defense? Two years ago i might have bought it but god damn i mean the biggest name there is Deltha O'Neil and no one knew him be fore he had like 12 or 13 picks two years ago

None of the teams you have posted is the number one team in the AFC, the Baltimore Ravens are the number one team. Then the Patriots, then the Chargers, and then the Bengals, the Colts are not in the top four.

Yo, starchild--Shanahan (check your spelling) has won how many playoff games without John Elway? The answer would be one. The Broncos are not ready yet, with a rookie (basically) starting at QB. The Ravens were what, 13-3 last year and they have most of their same team back (lost Thomas to your Pats), and added Willis McGahee, who will be a big upgrade over Jamal Lewis.
I actually think the Colts might be the fourth best and the Ravens the third best, as the Colts lost a lot of players, especially on defense. I agree with you on the Pats and Chargers being 1-2.

Well i think your list needs some tweaking becasue the colts are not as strong as they were last year. Heres my list:
1. San Diego: They have all of their starters returning and Tomlinson will be even more dynamic in the system Norv Turner brought to San Diego. Also he will helo develop Phillip Rivers along even more.
2. Baltimore: The Ravens should be a much better football team this year because almost all of their defensive stars are returning, and the loss of AD won't hurt them too much because they've always found great players and Jerett Johnson looks like a good one. They have a franchise back in McGahee and with McNair fully aware of the offense and Billick calling plays, it should be a much better offense.
3. New England: Yes they went crazy in the offseason and got all those receivers for Brady, which is good because now there won't be any excuses if they struggle. The offense should be good as long as their RB Maroney can stay healthy to give them a balanced attack. On defense, Adlaius Thomas will do heavy damage, but their secondary doesn't look that great. Although Belichick's system can usually plug in guys anywhere, sooner or later those inexperienced players will be exposed, especially with Samuel holding out. Age is also catching up with players like Seau (38) Bruschi (34) and Harrison (37) Vrabel (33) so i wouldnt be surprised if they started to slow down a bit.
4. Indianapolis: They still have Manning, Harrison, Wayne, Clark, Addai and that great offensive line, and the addition of rookie Anthony Gonzales should replace Brandon Stokely very quickly. But once again, the defense is the weak link. They lost starting DT Monte Reagor, LB Cato June, both of their starting CB's Nick Harper and Jason David, and their starting SS Mike Doss. Even though Dungy's Cover 2 scheme is simple, it'll take those inexperienced players awhile to really master the system. Look for the to repeat their 2004 season and just try to outscore every one.
Next in Line:

The Denver Broncos. Even though I am a Titans fan I must admit the Broncos have a lot of pieces to the puzzle made. They got a great young QB (Cutler) a new proven running back (Henry) good wideout (Walker) great coach (Shanahan) and a great tandom of d backs (Bly, Bailey, and Lynch) also they got a great pass rusher now (Jarvis Moss). They got everything. If Travis Henry can have a year like last and take the pressure off yet another young QB (like last year with Vince Young) Cutler will get the ball down the field to Javon Walker for quite a few scores. Also I like the Ravens with their excelent defense and a good new running back.

Baltimore and I would put them above both the Colts and San Diego. I think Baltimore will ride there dominant defense and Mcnair will have a good year. I would of course rank Kansas City #1 then New England and Baltimore.

You are correct on the Top 3. I'm picking the Ravens at #4. They will win their division behind the best defense in the NFL and a rejuvenated running attack with McGahee.
