I spent 25 years single without even being in a relationship.
Part of it was choice...I was taking care of an elderly family member and I didn't feel I could devote myself to another person.
I liked the freedom of it, and sometimes the solitude, but we are social creatures and we are not meant to be alone.
I have been married for 7 years now. It's not for everyone, and it takes work, but I am happier than I have ever been.

I am past 50 and never married, but I didn't always live alone. I lived with a guy for 14 yrs.before he got killed and with another for 7 before he died unexpectedly. I just seem to have bad luck with men,but life goes on and I am happy even tho I miss the daily kisses, hugs and companionship.
I know someday another one will come along when I least expect it and maybe then if it's meant to be I will marry him.

Woman - an unusual creature which adapts to any circumstances - is flexible - though coming from the spine/ribs of man. Woman - different roles - mother, daughter, wife, sister, etc. Woman - the mother. Mother - the woman most sacred to all. It has been said that God could not be everywhere, and so He made mothers. Anytime, anyday - the more stronger is the woman. Even a big Herculean guy - is a small boy to his mother. Wife - the silent energy and support of the man. Daughter - the love and pride of the man - it is the daughter that cares the most for the father. Sister - a playful image of a mother. Multi role adaptable persona - woman

I haven't, and I couldn't imagine a life like that. It would make me sad to be without the hugs, kisses, and intimacy I receive from my S/O. Being held and loved by him makes me happy and feel complete.
On the other hand, some people can and do live a life like that. To each their own.

I have been on both sides of the spectrum....living with others and living alone. Alone for years now...There are advantages, and disadvantages to that, but i have created a balance,by being active. However,Sometimes I think it might be nice to share my life with someone to enhance lifes quality.
