Reason I ask is I'm looking for a new place to live out west and someone said of all the places he's been(he was a sales rep and visited virtually everywhere in the Western US) Northern Nevada was the best.

It's snowing in Northern Arizona this morning and is supposed to snow as far south as the mountains of Tucson (above 8000') tonight. Very freak storm for this time of year.

Depends on you. what type of job do you want? What are your hobbies? I have lived in Elko, NV and liked it fine. It is a very rural place without the opportunities that exist in a more populous area. Mining is a big part of the economy as is ranching. The scenery is first rate and the outdoor activities are awesome. Ruby mountain heli-skiing is great if you are a skier. Hunting and fishing to die for.

The small towns up there are nice. You also might want to check out southern Oregon.
