if you also plan on visiting other areas in the city a Daytripper would be the best ticket option (gives you unlimited travel for the day).

Hi,yes you can.
Also when traveling by train/Bus you can purchase one (1) ticket that will cover the Train/Bus/Boat/Bus to the Zoo entrance and admission to the Zoo and this is the cheapest way to go.

If you mean Taronga zoo, then you can. Purchase it from Circular Quay in Sydney.

No. You don't buy ferry tickets at many of the wharves but get them when you arrive at Circular Quay. The ticket machines are before you get to the barrier. This was the case last time I looked. They might have installed ticket machines at the wharves since then but I doubt it.
