"It is a capital mistake to theorize before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts."

^Disagree, sometimes the truth is just to difficult to accept but that doesn't mean it's not true.
There was a time people found it difficult to believe the world was round they thought it was flat, they told Christopher Columbus he would fall off, if he traveled to far.

Actually, even scientist will tell you that the easiest solution to a problem or a question is usually the best. This is why "String Theory" has been replaced by "M theory" -- it's a little easier to swallow (if your into that kind of thing).
So, if something seems to complicated or too difficult to believe then trust your instincts. If nothing else, your gut will usually tell you what's real and what is not.
I know this to be true -- my "gut instinct" has literally saved my life at least twice.

Disagree. Most of the time, things are difficult to accept as true because we don't have the proper technology or knowledge to show that they are true.
People thought the sun revolved around the earth, until they had equipment and methods to actually test that idea.

Disagree.... What's difficult to accept for you may not be difficult for others to accept... It's just that people's perception are not the same...

Disagree. That's a matter of perception of truth, not truth itself.
I might say it's difficult for me to accept that Bush got a second term--it doesn't mean it didn't happen.

I would personally rather a painful truth that is difficult to accept over a comfortable lie that sounds nice.

Generic phrases
Generally, things are pretty much worse than they appear
The only absolute is that there's no absolute.
"Look around you, what you see now, is the only thing that is real"
Now this is an idea that is difficult to phrase... my idea.
If the laws of physics weren't meant to be lovely, we wouldn't be so protective of them even though they were the least of things needing protection. But don't we love the angles of space?

Disagree in principle, but I don't know exactly what you are referring to, so I apply the rule to Mythology and Folklore.
