You can use a hot melt glue. Some are permanent and hard and others are rubbery. The glue comes as round sticks and the hand held applicators themselves are cheap and easy to get at craft stores.

Hi, I'm sure there are many different names for it, but one of them is called,Museum Adhesive. Look where they have the safety things, you know Like the Earthquake stuff. They keep it there because that's what they use to keep glass Nick-naks from falling off the shelf ,in a earthquake. Bye(at the hardware store)

I know exactly what you're talking about. I just don't know what it's called. I would try your local crafts store like a Hobby Lobby.

WH Smith sell rolls of dots of repositionable glue, that should do the trick. It's known as 'bogey glue' in our house!
