You must remember that Sinatra was a singer/actor who was worth a fortune to the studios, and as such, at the first sign of trouble, his "heavies" (minders) would have moved in and dealt with the situation long before it got out of hand and certainly before Sinatra would have become involved in fisticuffs.

I would highly suggest reading His Way by Kitty Kelley. Best book I have ever read.

sinatra ran with a 'different' crowd, and yes, he could take a punch...but he could also deliver one, according to rumors all around Vegas...I don't think that the M.A.F.I.A. crowd he associated with, would have ever let him 'take a good solid punch' ....
