I think they can practically take off the whole breast if they so wish, but I don't know if the risks increase the more they cut off.
I read a review on breast reduction a couple of days ago: http://squidoo.com/breastreduction
I hope you can find some answers

I went down from a 34G to 34DD which is over 2 full cup sizes or 5 half cup sizes. As you can tell I still stayed at a large size but yet if I had of wanted to I could've even gone down to a small B cup.

Depending on what size you go to your surgeon will just reduce and reshape your nipple to suit your new breast size.

You surgeon will try to accomodate what suits you and what size you are hoping for. For example I showed my surgeon photos of when I was a teenager and a D cup and told him that I would prefer to be around a D - DD. I ended up a nice DD which I am extremely happy with.

All the best.

** On another note, I was probably 10 kilograms over my desired weight when I had my surgery and yet now I have lost all that weight due to the fact I can now exercise. My breasts have not changed at all as nearly all of the fat tissue has been removed from them.

I went from a J to a C, so that might be me.

The woman in the bra store is totally wrong.

:)

Oh, if you happen to lose weight after the reduction, most of the time it will not affect your breast size, since during surgery they take out a lot of the fatty tissue and leave the dense breast tissue there. So there may be a chance you'd lose in the breast, but its not really high.

And I was a little overweight when I had my reduction, and I had no requirements from my ins co to lose weight. However SOME ins companies are very picky and might want you to lose weight or even see a chiro first.

Yes and No
If you wish to go down a cup size then Liposuction may be the way go
But if you need to reduced a great deal then Dr can take up to 800gms of breast that will be a couple of cup sizes
If you are thinking about this procedure the Dr will check your weight first and if over weight will ask you to lose weight if that's the case

My mother had a breast reduction after her breast cancer and they reduced her from a size D to a size B. If needed be I am sure they would of reconstructed her a size A.

What the hell would a woman in a bra store know? She thinks she is a plastic surgeon because she sells bras? Sounds to me like she is trying to make herself look like she knows something!! I would talk to a Dr. Who actually is a professional and go from there! Good Luck!

PS I would take some if I could!!

I went from nearly DDD to C. I am so happy with it. Only your plastic surgeon can tell you for sure - I would trust them any day over the lady in the bra store. What makes her an expert? Hope you get the results you want!

i am a dd cup and i have inquired with a surgeon about a reduction and was told that they could reduce me to b cup but not all at once also check if you are entitled as i was told that i wasn't big enough to have surgery and that it would cost me £10,000.00 to go ahead.

They can take the whole breasts away, what she talking about? But, before you do that you may want to lose some weight first (if you want to lose some weight also), so it would not turn out to be too small than what you want later.

Breast reduction surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her breast reduction, tummy tuck and facelift surgery in India by the company called Tour2india4health Consultants .The Price for the surgery she paid in India was very less. She paid 30% of the cost she was quoted in America.

Tour2india4health Consultants is very famous in India. They arrange cosmetic and plastic surgery for foreigners in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low price, as the breast reduction, tummy tuck, facelift and other cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.
