i've seen 'Earth Live' yesterday, and i got an immediate sick feeling about the creationists point of view in the world, and the results which became obvious in the elections.

I would like to ask which lobby that is, ignoring overwhelming evidence that we are about to destroy our planet.

Could it be that creationists be the ones being called responsible if we all mess it up ?

Hi

I couldn't stand to live in a society of evengelical nutters, who blantantly disregard science. There is a place for God perhaps, but it should in no way influence the state, it must be scary to live in these times, where the elite can use religion so effectively to avoid facing the numorous challenges that global warming poses.

Its not about religion for these people, its about economics, religion is merely a powerful tool to corrupt the masses.

Unfortunately, the main stream is to busy reading the bible instead of taking a notice of the world around them.

creationism i suppose is your definiton of the religiously inclined huh? these people aren't any more responsible for our current situation then you or I. If any group is responsible it would be the past few presidents who 'for the sake of sience' denied global warming. By the way does anyone see how wasting electricity to put on a rock show translates to greening up the world? I would have thought it would have the opposite effect.

This is why we need active, involved citizens--to block the religious extremists--they are a threat to America and the rest of the world--and not just on environmental iissues.

In particular, as a Christian myself, I have to say we have been far too willing to tolerate these cults (the "Moral Majority", "700 Club", etc.). Not legitimate conservative--or even fundamentalist--churches. But that end of the religious spectrum has largely been hijacked by people who are neither true Christians nor patriotic citizens--and we need to stop tolerating their pretensions to go unchallenged.

I haven't seen that show, and I'm not sure if I understand what you are trying to say, but I'm going to try and answer to the best of my knowledge.
Being one myself, I would think that creationists would want to help preserve the earth that God created just as much, if not more than anyone.
God created the earth for us to take care of and we are responsible for what happens to it.

You are the victim of algorehype.....walk, don't run, to the nearest exit.....

ALGORES ommisions...
1. CO2 levels rise after increased temperature, not the opposite.
2. The earth was warmer during the 1300's, called the Medieval Warming Period.
3. Climate Change does exist and follows the same patterns as solar activity.
it's amazing that the real Scientists are never heard from....
Is the Earth still recovering from the “Little Ice Age”?
""A possible cause of global warming
Syun-Ichi Akasofu
International Arctic Research Center
University of Alaska Fairbanks
Abstract
There seems to be a roughly linear increase of the temperature from about 1800, or even much earlier, to
the present. This warming trend is likely to be a natural change; a rapid increase of CO2 began in about
1940. This trend should be subtracted from the temperature data during the last 100 years. Thus, there is a
possibility that only a fraction of the present warming trend may be attributed to the greenhouse effect
resulting from human activities. This conclusion is contrary to the IPCC (2007) Report, which states that
“most” of the present warming is due to the greenhouse effect. One possible cause of the linear increase
may be that the Earth is still recovering from the Little Ice Age. It is urgent that natural changes be
correctly identified and removed accurately from the presently on-going changes in order to find the
contribution of the greenhouse effect.""

Do you think that the UN is telling the whole truth or has an agenda? Why would they erase the Medieval Warming period???? Maybe to make the more gullible be taken in...

This just in...
"Water vapour was responsible for 95 per cent of the greenhouse effect, an effect which was vital to keep the world warm, he explained.

"If we didn't have the greenhouse effect the planet would be at minus 18 deg C but because we do have the greenhouse effect it is plus 15 deg C, all the time."

The other greenhouse gases: carbon dioxide, methane, nitrogen dioxide, and various others including CFCs, contributed only five per cent of the effect, carbon dioxide being by far the greatest contributor at 3.6 per cent.

However, carbon dioxide as a result of man's activities was only 3.2 per cent of that, hence only 0.12 per cent of the greenhouse gases in total. Human-related methane, nitrogen dioxide and CFCs etc made similarly minuscule contributions to the effect: 0.066, 0.047 and 0.046 per cent respectively. ""

"Only an insignificant fraction of scientists deny the global warming crisis. The time for debate is over. The science is settled."

S o said Al Gore ... in 1992. Amazingly, he made his claims despite much evidence of their falsity. A Gallup poll at the time reported that 53% of scientists actively involved in global climate research did not believe global warming had occurred; 30% weren't sure; and only 17% believed global warming had begun. Even a Greenpeace poll showed 47% of climatologists didn't think a runaway greenhouse effect was imminent; only 36% thought it possible and a mere 13% thought it probable.
