Ohhh, wow... JUST two? Let's see.

Steven Tyler of Aerosmith. Having seen them over a dozen times over the years (both pre-sober and sober), I admire their longevity, QUALITY of work, and the fact that at nearly 60, Steven can STILL shriek with the best of them!

Linkin Park, et al: While these guys are young enough to be my children, I never cease to be amazed at the DEPTH of the lyrics they continue to churn out. DEEP feelings, introspection, you name it... and the fact that they can emote so well in concert also helps. :)

(and a 'bonus'): my "guilty pleasure" is CHER. She just doesn't give a damn WHAT anyone thinks of her... but if you wanna PARTY, she'll give you one hell of a show! ;)

1. Stevie Wonder---I have been impressed by him for over two decades. All you have to do is listen to his music that was made from 1970-1980 and belive me, you will be impressed. The man won over 22 grammy and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Many artists cite him as a role model.

2. The Sound of Philidelphia (TSOP) Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff. These guys are the writers, arrangers and producers for such bands as The O'Jays, Lou Rawls, Three Degrees, The Jones Girls, People 's Choice and the MFSB. They were hot in the 1970s.

1970s Music is by far the best music ever made.

Marvin Gaye (r.i.p) and Stevie Wonder, both artists chose to use music as a platform to not only inform people but also to invoke social change. Some of Gaye's socially concious tracks include "What's Going On", "Inner City Blues (Makes Me Wanna Holler." Whereas Stevie Wonder's informative and socially concious track listing includes "How Come, How Long", "So What The Fuss", "Ebony & Ivory" , and "Shelter in The Rain." Additionally they two artist have paved the way for many of the socially conscious tracks that we hear today such as U2 and Mary J. Blige's "One."

Steely Dan (a band, not a man whose nickname is Steely.) It is in fact the name of a sex toy in a novel). They defy all the writing 'rules', are and have always rebelled against the 'business' part of the music business, musicians are in awe of them, their lyrics are sometimes hilarious-sometimes VERY sarcastic, they have some of the best lines I have ever heard and the music is incredible.
The other would have to be Eric Clapton. He was in so many GREAT bands--Cream, Blind Faith, Derek and the Dominoes, the Yardbirds, John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers, Delaney. Bonnie and friends etc. Then there is his little solo career, need I say more? (I remember seeing 'Eric Clapton is God' on peoples notebooks, buildings etc with spray paint. AND his current stuff is great! Loved CD with BB King.

1. George Clinton. I don't think there is anyone else like him. Tracks by either Funkadelic or Parliament still sound good today and many rap artists have sampled his work.

2. Omar. Love his voice and his musical abilities, he can play such a variety of instruments. He seems to be more appreciated in America than he is in the UK.

Nirvana, they had revolutionized part of the music world, & created their own style.

Dave Grohl would be the person I am most inpressed with. He is in my opinion the greatest drummer out there, he had played for Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Probot, and several other bands, & is multi-talented.
