There are three free newspapers I get, the South Bergenite, the Observer and the Leader. I look thru all three of them because they have local news that is ignored in the big daily papers and on TV news. What is interesting about 2 of these papers is that they are run by women who took over from the original owners and in both cases the papers were greatly improved by the change

Yeah, we have 2. Ones called The Recorder and the others called The Observer. Both are the poor mans version of our weekly newspaper, The Chad. They have some of the same stuff in them that the Chad has, but The Chads the better read.

Most London Boroughs have their on Newspapers too. I think all are good although some have a little too much advertising ..

It's called The Post.
It used to be the Trading Post.
It has great local coverage, unlike our county newspaper.
The county one ignores all the small towns and concentrates on the 3 main cities here.

we have two in Aberdeen - The Citizen and The Independent - they are both pretty good with loads of local news, classifieds and recruitment sections. Obviously loads of advertising is the biggest downside but you'd have to expect that when it's free.

Yes, we have The Campaign. It's not much good, adverts repeated throughout. and we only get it when the delivery boy can be bothered to walk up our hill, so that might be about 4 times a year.(even though it's a fortnightly publication)
