Plus, the pay is okay, but not the best.

It's a tricky one because you might never find another job that you love so much. It's depends on what it more important to you - how much you enjoy a job or how much money and prospects are available.

I was in that situation a few years ago. I took a better job w/room for advancement, but I didn't enjoy it nearly as much. However, I'm still working the job I love, just as a part-time thing. Maybe I'll never leave!

If I were younger, I'd be putting the feelers out for a new job with a new employer that could offer advancement prospects. At my age ... I like where I am and can't be bothered to think about moving on .... I love my job, I love my people, I love my bosses .. I hope to retire here!

"it is a dead end job. There is no room for advancement."

That describes my job perfectly. But the pay is quite reasonable and I don't have to make tough decisions or deals with management of other organisations - so I am happy.
And I really really like my job.
NO I wouldn't quit my job for the reason you gave.

It depends on whether or not you have something else lined up. With economics the way they are right now, jobs are hard to find. (Good ones anyways).

There is nothing worse then working at a place that you can't stand & they don't appreciate you.

If this is what you are going through, I wish you luck.

It sounds like you are describing my job.
I'm going back to school this fall so I can get out of my dead end job and have a career.

I'd quit the job as soon as I got a better one!
