You have tried the obvious tests, and some answers have offered others. I have had similar probs with my Mountfield too in the past.
Have you checked the carburettor settings? If your mixture is too 'lean' the mower will judder and stall. Refer to your Manual for adjustment of the carburettor - check the idle speed too - the setting should allow a steady idling with smooth engine acceleration.
Turn your machine onto its side (with fuel filler uppermost) and check the underside of the cutting deck - scrape and clean off all caked dirt/grass build-up, as this will affect the air-flow and reduce the machine's ability to direct the grass cuttings into the neck of the chute.
Is your grass rather long and lush? Weeks of wet weather had encouraged strong growth. Try adjusting the height of cut - a higher setting will allow more air to be pulled in underneath and so discharge the cuttings into the bag more efficiently. If this improves performance, you may then need to cut your grass in 2 stages at different height settings.
If the grass is wet, this will affect performance too, as the grass cuttings will not 'flow' and will ten to stick on the plastic of the underside of the cutting deck.

RE:
My MOUNTFIELD lawn mower keeps wanting to cut out especially whilst mowing...HELP?
Whilst half way through the cutting the lawn, my mountfield PETROL mower started "juddering" and cut out, i then started it up again and as soon as it started cutting out i stopped and carried on...it seems as something is very wrong. I checked the oil and petrol and every thing was as it...

I would check the following:-
- how old is the petrol? it may be worth putting fresh petrol in
- is the fuel filter blocked?
- check the operator safety control cutout is working properly
- is the spark plug lead loose or grounding

check the air filter , could be blocked with grass cuttings , when cold it runs ok , but it's like having the choke on , once it warms up the mixture is too rich and it will stall , also make sure the blade is sharp so he machine does not have 2 work so hard

Spark plug - fouled plug will cause uneven running. Air filter - if dirty, not enough oxygen is allowed in the mix.
good luck
