It is Written by Rabindranath Tagore
Before independence Vande Mataram was our National Anthem. However later on due to oppositon by certain community it changed to Jana Gana Mana after Indepedence.
Now Vandemataram is National Song
and Jana Gana Mana is National Anthem.
