Red Sox. Sounds silly, but they've been playing .500 ball since May 31.

They got the big lead, and have been lucky the Yanks and Toronto appear headed to be going nowhere.

Underachievers in the first half include:

Julio Lugo .190 average? That's got to improve
Manny 11 homeruns? Are you kidding me?
Ortiz 14 homeruns? Are you kidding me?
JD Drew .250 average with 6 homers????
Coco .250 average????

Schilling 6-4 isn't "ace" material
Wake 7-7???
Timlin, Pineiro???

How the Sox have the best record despite these guys sucking all year amazes me. I'm the biggest Sox fan on the planet, but it gets frustrating watching them flounder at .500 ball for two months.

The only saving grace is that they pulled this stunt in 2004, as well, and they pulled in together in September.

Player:
Johan Santana. He only lost 3 games after the all star break in his carer.

Team:
Mets will stop their current struggles and the same with the Cards.

The Yankees... I can't even remember the last tim they finished sub .500, I expect them to play good baseball and hopefully get the wildcard spot... or, if the red sox crash like they did last year, even the pennant.

The teams with the strongest pitching that is able to endure and stay healthy. I am not an Angles fan but, to me, this looks like it might be their year, they have it all.

THE CHICAGO CUBS

Interesting question buck but you know people are just going to be bias to their team like I did although I would not say the cubs if I really did think they had no chance at the post season

Player-Richie Sexson, he batted .365 after the break last year.

Team-A's, they always make it interesting in the 2nd half.
