This represents the addition of the 6 sides of 2 die, if you roll both you have a better chance of them adding up to 7 than anything else. That's why 7 is the lucky #. Hope that answers your question.

. The israelites circled jericho 7 times for 7 days
. In Japanese mythology there are 7 lucky gods

I could go much further, but I think you get it. The number 7 is considered a lucky number because it is a holy number, and holy things are generaly considered good. And a good thing is good to have so by the Transitive property 7 is lucky because it is good.

It goes back thousands of years. People belived that 7 was a lucky/holey number. It has stayed that way through religion. 777 is supposed to be a symbol of God. Busineses such as the gaming industry has explioted this. If you look almost every slot game has 7's on the reels.

Chinese folklaw clearly talks about the seven suns when the 6 of the suns where shot all was well and western culture has brushed with it and assumed that seven is a lucky number

Look at the calendar, it is amount of time it takes for the moon to go into the different phases. It goes back to the time men first looked into the night sky. They saw the phases and how the sky kept time and were amazed.
