See if you can remove the helmet lock from the bike. It should have the code stamped on it and a locksmith who is capable to looking up and cutting motorcycle keys should be able to fix you up. You'll need to call the locksmith before just going to their shop. Many do not have the capability to cut motorcycle keys by the number. By taking the helmet lock with you can verify the key should work in your ignition.

Right what you need is a good locksmith (preferably an auto locksmith, they are about).
I don't know where you are based, but just to let you know, I purchased a brand new Malaguti Madison 250 scooter very cheaply from the importer but there was no set of keys. I contacted a locksmith in Preston who were bloody marvellous. They came to my home address, removed the barrel from one of the locks and in around 30 minutes cut two sets of keys. They did a fantastic job. Cost me around £70 but they had to come to my address which is about 25 miles from Preston. A new lock set would have been around £110 and then you'd have to fit it.

Get all the details for your bike (ie. VIN, serial number, model, etc) and take it to your local Yamaha dealer, along with your proof of title, identity, etc.
They will be able to get you a replacement key for your bike.
Note: Always make spare keys. As a normal practice, I usually make a copy of an important key and keep it in a central location. For example, place all your important keys in a locked metal box under your bed. Or any central location in your house where you will store all your spare keys. I've always done that, and haven't had any problems concerning keys.
Hope it helps!
Ride safe!

ok, with the keys, you can buy replacements...... for the code that you need, its in the lock its self, u will have to take it of, unscrew the bottom, a you should see a letter followed by numbers..... Are you in australia ?
Then with the blank keys you will have to take them to a locksmith with you barrel to get them to cut it to it.
Or the only other way is buy a complete new set of barrels.
If you like email me, grab me the vin number and engine number and i can see what i can do as i worked with yamaha.

If you can get the bike to a locksmith they may be able to make a key using the serial numbers from the bike. Bring your title and picture ID.
Look to see how difficult it is to remove the gas cap or the ignition switch and take that to the locksmith. There will be a number on it somewhere they can work from. Good Luck

Take the info and/or the bike to a key maker or locksmith, they might be able to figure it out. My Honda had a three digit number that the keymaker could use to make a new key. He told me to take that number and staple it to my title, so I'd always have it. A good tip for everyone here.

Have a locksmith make you a set of keys.
OR
Call Yamaha and ask if keys can be made with just the vin # of your bike.
You might have to show proof of ownership.
