Because this site is addicting. The wide range of characters on here keep us glued to Answers for hours.
It's a HUGE variety of personalities and they entertain us and keep us company.
We are never alone when we're on here. It feels like family.

It probably has something to do with the points and answering more questions gives you more points. Getting chosen Best Answer is also gratifying. But most of all, I think we spend so much time here because we're bored. But at least we can try to help someone with a genuine question. Maybe we'll get smarter from all this by reading other people's points of view.
