I think they were/are, even though they were more blues, improvenizational jazz, and country more than straight-up rock & roll. I think they easily win the talent contest with the best musicians ever in any band from any country!

Fantastic band, especially the live shows but to me the greatest American band was Creedence Clearwater Revival.
I'm still trying to figure out how the Rolling Stones are the greatest American band when they came from the other side side of the pond.

The grateful ineffective!! They made numerous loot, have been by no skill commercial, bought tickets directly to the followers and had a extensive following! There music is astounding and the scene replaced into great. the style of great style of type human beings all looking after 1 yet another. human beings usually gave away fee ticket to the teach to random human beings. They took tunes that have been previous, tunes no one ever heard and made them their very own. They have been the pioneers for the jam band scene. LOVE THE ineffective! Deadhead for lifestyles!

The greatest? No. There have been better. Off of the top of my head, I could throw Eagles, Doobies, Chicago, Beach Boys, Jefferson Airplane (Starship). Not even the greatest southern rock group. Hello? Lynyrd Skynyrd (however they spelled it).

I liked the Allman bros until I saw the way Greg A. treated his wife and kid....He robbed himself of his talents by drugging too much!...So, if he wasn't so stoned, how much better could it be?

They have some really great songs, one of my faves is "Melissa"...Damn thats a good song! You can't help but love it..
