I think it may seem so nowadays, but it's not necessarily that they have no sense of humor. People seem more aggressive over the internet because remarks that are supposed to be humorous and lighthearted are not transmitted properly online. Intonation is not transmitted with the text so there are a lot of misinterpretations.
