I admit i hit the car but the car was blocking my neighbors driveway and was 18 inches away from the curb. The curb the car was parked by, was not long enough for him to park without at least blocking mine or my neighbors driveway. I live in California since i know different states have different laws.I also went ahead and took pictures just in case.

You hit him. He was not in your driveway. It is your fault totally. It is totally irrelevant that he was blocking your neighbors driveway. You are not your neighbors keeper.

dont know who was at fault but a similiar thing recently happened to my brother where his car was parked on the side of the road and someone hit it in the middle of the night and didnt leave a note or anything. a neighbor saw what happened and knew the person that hit it when my brother reported it to the police he was told that if his car wasnt close enough to the curb there was nothing that could be done about it. but i'm pretty sure that intentionally hitting someones car comes with a whole new set of laws and you should be careful you dont get in trouble.

You should have called Department of Parking and Traffic if it was actually blocking the driveway. Now that you had hit it, it *is* your fault, since you *knew* you will hit it if you tried.

Yes, though it would have been nice to have a police report of the scene.

It was sitting still, you were moving? Yup, your fault.
