Do you want to know how to succeed in Hollywood, on Broadway, in selling you screenplay or TV ideas? I'm curious. Do you, or are you already fine with your life, as it is, and think all that stuff is over-rated?

I see that I confused matters. My question stands, before I set the details in regarding acting and writing and theatre, and sadly I confused everyone. I really am curious about ambition and what ambitious people think it takes to achieve one's goals.

Screenplays (writers should also go to the other answer for actors, okay?):

As everyone knows there is more then one way to be sucessfull in these places. Since nobody really measures sucess the same, here are a few examples of people that I know who have made it in these places.

1. most of this buiseness isn't what you know it's who you know. Eg. Tom Cruse never took one acting workshop before becoming famous.

2. Have a good and active agent that realizes that the more you work the more money that they make.

3. Do as one of my girlfriends did and win a scollership for acting and modelling.

4. of course on of the keys is practice and study hard and keep involved as much as you can.

Any way these are a few ways that I know.

I am very happy with who I am infact I have labled as one of Canadas Performance art legons. I worked with and tought magic to many different artists including Michale Douglas and his wife, Al Pacino, Treble Charger, Sum 41 and many more.

I also dedicate 4 hours a day to practicing.

I have an agent and do indepentwork. Most of the work that I realy liked was achieved with out an agent.

If your dreams are just to be rich and famouse, I would sugest to give up now.

It's the pasion that helps make people sucessfull.

If you want to sell a screenplay be sure to mail a copy to your self before you start dealing with any one. This will copywrite your show. After that send it a producer. You can find producers on the internet.

I don't believe that this stuff is over rated at all. Infact it is no different then any other career.

when your hart and mind combine, it is then that you will be sucessfull.

Have fun and keep smiling.

Of coarse that stuff is over-rated...my life might not be all galmour and glitz but I am content with it...in South Africa we are focused on our own success but also the empowerment of those who are disadvantaged because of natural disasters etc...Sure you might be noticed when you're part of the hollywood club when you make a contribution to an Aids organisation...but the motives for such contributions are publicity stunts and cannot be concidered as genuine... No I'm not jealous...it's just sad to see people chase after something as superficial, unsatisfying and unfulfilling as fame and fortune...

I would love to know the secret to selling a screenplay...I have ideas trapped in my head and they're searching for the EXIT!

It's not over-rated if you have a passion for it. I don't think that you should go in looking to make money.

If the whole world crammed into Hollywood, no one would have time to watch TV.
