when inmates are on work release do they have to give a certain amount of money everytime they get money?

Inmates in a work-release program are required to pay a portion of their earning to the Community Corrections program. If you would like to know what each state's payment requirements are check the link below.

In Alabama, the state confiscates 10% of their check. THEN the state takes out their fines and puts the rest in savings for the inmate upon release. Most states do this or something similar.
