There are a million reasons why your cat might not be eating, most of which are perfectly harmless, some of which could spell doom for your cat. You say that you can't afford to take the cat to the vet; so, there's your answer! PRAY that it is one of the many harmless reasons, most of which will resolve themselves in time. Otherwise, you had better pray for EITHER the money for a vet visit or a miracle healing. Because without it, your cat is a goner!

Your cat may have a hairball which will eventually be coughed up and will start eating again soon. You may want to give her the malted hairball remedy you can buy at the store. This will help her pass it.
If you have an old cat, he/she may have hyperthyroidism. She would need medicine to regulate her metabolism. My cat is going through this but the medicine is making her sick. My cat is 14 years old. She is not getting better or eating well so I am going to lay her down.
If it is serious, you just might have to find the money to get him/her to a vet to find out what is wrong.
Good luck

I have a persian cat and he gets depressed sometimes specially when I dont spend time with him and he stops eating. I recommend u to play with him as soon as u get home, brush his hair and feed him, i m sure he just needs a little attention. If he doesnt want to eat get him Science Diet or salmon for cats.

try feeding it something different.
if you can't afford a vet, and nothing else works, then buy some bullets. it is better to shoot the cat than to let it starve to death.
Namaste.
