If you are degrading people or business prcatices yes indeed they can take legal action against you. This is a tight-rope your walking, too. You are proctected under the First Amendment, but you cannot willfully degrade another person or business. If you said IN MY OPINION...John Doe was a pedophile...then thats okay, because you are free to have opinions. But remember this...its not good to bite the hand that feeds...you get my drift?

"Gotta agree with Doug S!!!
BUT yes you could loose a law suit that way very easy. You would have to prove ever thing you wrote was true, and that might be very hard. On the other hand it would be very easy for "the other side" to prove that at least one thing was false and that is all they would have to do. (Its called burden of proof.)

YES. However, they can't do anything to him if what he stated is true. If there is ANY falsehood to it at all, they can sue. They'd get both an injunction which would force him to take down the website, and, if they asked for it, could get monetary damages as well.

Trouble comes in many forms.

Even if it is not illegal, who needs that kind of reputation in their workplace. It will simply be harder to get your job done.
