Yes I always thought that, mainly because my mother always told me that no one would ever want me. Now I have a husband and 2 beautiful children ;-)
There is someone for everyone and you will find that person.

I think most people have struggled with thoughts like that at one point or another, I know I have. I'm almost 22 and have never been on a date? However, you've got to work to overcome that thought. Ever heard of a self-fulfilling prophecy? Odds are you won't act like yourself if you're beating yourself down like that, which will become a turn-off. I know it's hard, but just stop thinking about it and see what happens. Just remember that there's more to life than relationships!

Yes, I still do think like that, I'm 44, and not a man in sight. But seriously.... Mr Right isn't going to come and knock on your door and ask if there is a nice lady living here who wants to get married. You have to put yourself out there......in situations where there are a lot of single men, to increase your chances. Your chances will reduce a whole lot if you spend all your spare time at home watching TV.

Ya know I've been thinking the same thing. I'm going to be 25 next month and I'm still single. No bf, no nothing. All my friends male and female have a significant other, married or otherwise. It's very depressing. :-( I'm not worried about the kids thing at this point, and I have dated before, but obviously none of them worked out.

You would probably like the Aimee Mann song, "Save Me" in which she says "oh won't you save me from the ranks of the freaks, that suspect, they could never love anyone". It's not a good feeling but we've all been there. If you don't want to get married, you shouldn't, but if you want to, then you will work at getting there. Don't let bad moods take hold of how you feel about your entire life course in general, I know it's easy to do.

I feel that way as well, but I don't know if it's my self-esteem to blame... I think it's more how I was brought up and my beliefs about marriage. I don't like children very much either. But I think that in order to be happy, one must do these things. So, I hope to be a mother some day.

nicely, you seem in somewhat a pickle. Are you in basic terms over the honeymoon portion of the dating, and thanks to this you sense you have hit a plateau? a marriage or maybe long dating isn't rainbows and gumdrops, you bypass by months, even years, of ****. it truly is not constantly constantly *******, good situations, and happiness. in case you sense like it truly is all its ever going to be, decrease her loose now so she does have time. you're getting up in the marrying age too so that's recommended to contemplate settling down quickly. As for the nice and comfortable bombshell, that became a dogs circulate, shame on you. -Melly

Hmm. I felt that way when I was a teenager. Not now however. Still won't be having children though. Too traumatic!
I used to feel like I would be alone forever. I even considered a life of abstinence, in my early 20s.

I always think that but not because I have low self esteem issues but because I'm in my 30's and still single. I feel so hopeless.

I always feel like that after a breakup. Like right now. It feels like no one else will ever look at me again the way the last one did. But it's never the case--someone else who has the sense to treat you right will come along and put to shame all those jerks who didn't appreciate what they had.
