Difficult to ID without good picture of the leaves. Bark looks very similar to Oak. Got leaves?

I think it is an oak. There are many different kinds. All I can narrow it down (by the bark) is that it is a decidous oak (loses it leaves in winter). My parents property has many oaks on it, and black oaks and white oaks look like yours.

It's an oak tree. Here in SC we call them scrub oaks, due to the smaller leaves.
