In some states it is illegal! Does it really matter? No! The courts don't care. So, if I were you I would tell his/her spouse!! The spouse has a right to know. And don't worry because GOD will be their judge in the end!

It is on the books as illegal in several states, but I don't think even one of them has ever actually given the adulteress a citation.

In one state, can't remember where, it's not illegal for a man to sleep with another woman, but it is for a woman to sleep with another man. That law wouldn't actually last long if someone tried to enforce it, but it is there.

I have read some of the answers and most of these people don't know what they are talking about. In the military, yes definitely. There is still an adultery law in the code of military justice. You would have to check the laws in your state. Each state is different but you would be surprised. I don't think there is one in my state but I do know that there is a sodomy law. Law or no, most jurisdictions would not prosecute anyway since the lawyers and judges are probably doing it too.

"Adultery is voluntary sexual intercourse between a married person and one who is not his or her spouse. Some legal
jurisdictions have defined it as 'crime against marriage' opposed to infidelity."
In the USA, laws vary from state to state so it would be best
for you to call your local library and ask for information regarding your location.
Whether you do or do not call the police on your neighbor is up to you. I do not know if I would do that if I were in your
shoes, but you did not really expand on the situation so
those of us answering your question do not know the full
implications of what is happening.
I wish you all the best.

In some states, yes, but it's one of those old laws that are still on the books but that aren't ever enforced (like oral sex and growing thistle). If you call 911, the only sounds you'll hear are hysterical laughter and a gentle click.

No, it's not. Sleeping with someone other than your spouse, is not illegal. Why are you in your neighbor business?, Unless you neighbor is sleeping with your husband it's none of your business.

It's only illegal if the other woman is your mother...and you're sleeping with her husband...your dad.
