Sea salt contains trace minerals, while most table salt is refined and is pure sodium chloride.

Well, it depends on what you mean by flavor. Sea salt is said to have a slight metallic tang because sea salt is made from evaporating sea water. Sea water contains magnesium chloride and calcium chloride as well as sodium chloride, which is salt. NaCl tends to crystallize more easily than the other two, which allows for the separating of the compounds during the evaporation process by draining out the brine before everything dries up. However, there's enough of MgCl2 and CaCl2 left over in the crystallized NaCl to give it a slightly different taste.
I suppose ordinary table salt doesn't have the metallic taste because it has been purified further.

Table salt is made by driving water into a salt deposit (mine) and evaporating the brine that is formed, leaving dried crystals that look like granulated sugar. Sea salt is what remains after seawater is trapped and evaporated.

As for why you think table salt has less flavor than sea salt, I have no idea, because table salt is far more dense, and actually has MORE flavor.
