I WIsh I could tell you... I would say it depends where you live But even with NJ it still depends on what county.
Some places are STRICT some aint. Some will let you paint over lead paint with special paint. Some want you to remove wood and some want it just striped. And then sometimes you have to have the lead paint shipped 500miles away to a company that deals with it. Plus how bi is the house and how much lead paint is there. I Have done houses that were 9000 and another the same size that was 22000. I wish I could help you more but in your ? there is not enough info to help you. But what you might want to do is look up city on the net and info on lead. Like if you typed (cleveland ohio lead paint removel) Nut get the citys web site and it will tell you what has to be done it wont give you a price per say but if it gives you a list a mile long you will get the hint. But also if you bring up your city and put in lead removel some sites give you a rough est on what it would be....
Goodluck
PS- I will add to this due to the answer below me.
I Do know someone who was harmed by lead paint.
It was a family of 5 that bought a old vic- house in the 70's the house was old and in need of some TLC. But to make a long story short the windows didnt open due to being painted shut. They scraped the windows and all the other fun stuff. But anyways there 2yr old child always used to sit at the front window waiting for his dad to get home and for some reason he used to chew on the window seal. His mom never gave it no thought. Well the kid got sick (really sick from the lead in the paint) for the most part lead is kinda everywhere all around us but not enough to hurt us. But back in the day Lead paint was strong.
And I Live in CA and here everything will kill you. Look at almost anything and it says it may cause cancer... So I moved to CA to kill myself.... LOL

This is going to bring an outpouring of concern but, this is a job that's going to be to big, to worry about. They have to come in with hazmat suits, strip all...ALL .. the pain of all the woodwork and then seal it, you may want to think about that.
All of us from previous generations lived with lead paint and we've had no harm come to us, I'm starting to think this is highly over rated. I know lead paint is harmful but, to what degree, to costing thousands of dollars to remove it, I don't think so but, if that what you want? go for it.
I, my wife and everyone I know were brought up with it, my father worked making paint for Minnesota paints for 35 years, I worked there during my summer breaks, hundreds of men, thousands of them, worked for these paint companies, there isn't enough lead from this to be harmful I think but, that's up to you if you have the money to spend. Go for it.

I would like to hear from one person that was harmed by the lead pain in thier home, not some hearsay but, one real person and can prove it through a medical doctor.

I would not paint with this product but, I would also not pay thousands of dollars to remove it, if we followed all the rules of hazards, removing all the asbestos, the lead pain, other things that are harmful from the house, we'd have quite the steralized home and spend all our money doing it, it's not feasable.
The second generation grew up with this stuff with no ill effects, now all of a sudden ?
