I am getting tried of waxing my boat! I thought there was a process where the boat yard could put a clear coat over the hull?
It is a blue hull and it shows the water spots!

A good wax job can't be beat !!!!
But...
You could try PoliGlow - it's a clear acrylic finish that is supposed to last longer than wax. It is pretty spendy..$$$$
There is also a clear acrylic floor finish that some boaters swear by. Future floor polish. It is actually a clear acrylic paint. The claim is that it is the same or similar to poliglow without the price. I haven't tried it but a few boaters in our harbor have and it looks pretty good after a year. As for use on a dark color ..... ??????????????????

Elbow grease the only good way in my opinion. If, it bad oxidized I use a fine rubbing compound, and if it maintained just a good wax (Turtle Wax, what I use), the wax not remove as much Gel-Coat over the years. Gel-Coat has color all the way through and if it done correctly will last longer than the boat. Another 2 things you can try according to your discretion. One, if it shine spray with a Silicon spray and wipe down after a few minutes. The other is make a bucket of soapy water and add about a cup of Kerosene and wash it. Rinse afterwards. The Silicon may not be cost effective. The Kerosene only work if it not oxidized.

Possibly epoxy paint, covered with clear coat. You should also invest in a "Boat Care Kit". Good luck!

if the gelcoat is in good condition i would not suggest paint.(if you do use emron) there is still alot of care with that. using a buffing wheel use 3m color restorer, then west marine polymer wax and do twice a year. sorry there is no easy way besides paying someone else to do this. good luck!!!!
