You can use anything you want on your checks. If you want the name of Mr. Magoo, you can have it written on them. Therefore, do not worry about whether they are void or not.
Also, most companies will not care what is on the check as long as they get their money.
But, remember that you should take a day or two extra when you get back from your honeymoon and work on changing your name. Start with your Social Security number, then go to the DMV to change your drivers license. Then go to the bank with the new license so that you can prove the change. Remember to add all normal bills and companies to the list of name changes and remember to let your job know so that they can adjust your w2's. It is tedious, but if you do it all in a day or two, you will not need to think about it again.

No they won't be void, but I would go to the bank with my marriage license after the wedding and get the name changed on the account and new checks issued at that time, unless you plan to retain your own account with your own old last name. No problem either way.
Of course, if you want to keep the old name on the checks, you need to keep ID in the old name, too, so you won't have problems when you try to write checks and the names don't match your ID cards.

You can still use them as long as your bank account has that name. Just wait a month or two after getting married before changing the name on the account.
Of course new checks are what, $7 to $10 bucks.

Most places ask for ID when taking a check.....
When you change your name...do it at the bank also....unless you have a current drivers license with the same name on your checks. Most places will allow you to send checks with your old name on them if mailed....like to a utility company, etc.
You will have a problem if your drivers license says one name and your checks say another.....store cashiers and managers do not know if the checks are on an open account or are stolen.

Once you are married you take your marriage license to the bank and have your name changed on your account, you will have to do that with the DMV to get your driver's license changed too and what ever else your maiden name is on.

No they'll still be good. It would be a good idea however, to inform your bank of your new name change so they can add your married name to your account.
