what does a person mean when they say that they are not ready for a relationship?

Sounds to me like they are trying to tell you that they don't want a relationship with you and save their friendship at the same time.

It's just a nice way of saying that they are not ready for a relationship with *you*. Sometimes things just don't click both ways.

Your in the wrong group with this questuion! but i will tell you what it means anyway, It means they are Not ready and they do not want a relationship , plain and simple! What more is there to say?? Get it! And move on!!

It means bug off, usually. They are not ready for a relationship with you personally. (it is a non-confronting way of dismissing you)

It is pretty simple....they want the fun of being with someone...sexually or just in other ways...without the committment of a relationship.....no strings attached..no responsibility.

It means they want you to be more forceful, demanding. You should drive them out to an isolated place and demand them tell you that again, maybe some light screaming would help the effect, just to show how deeply your love is.
