It's a very classic name, and even if it is very popular right now, she will grow into it well and have pride in it. A lot of names go through cycles of popularity. I went to school with several girls with the same name as I have, but it never bothered me. Sometimes, I think parents put too much focus on what is too popular and discard names they love in order to be "different." If you love Ella Grace, stick with it. Your daughter will appreciate it.

It IS really popular, but it's a very nice name. I'd use a longer first name that has Ella as a nickname. That way, she can be Ella to you and your family and her friends but won't be one of six Ellas in class (because her teachers can use her full name and she can write it on her papers so she won't be "Ella P." or "Ella M." or whatever your last initial is).
From babynames.com:
Elaina Grace
Ellanor Grace
Ellen Grace
Elysia Grace
Arabella Grace
Ariella Grace
Carabella Grace
Daniella Grace
Gabriella Grace
Isabella Grace
Joella Grace
Mirella Grace
Stella Grace

OK, here's one way to decide. If you don't know an Ella, no one in your circle is named Ella...then go for it. B/c then it will at least be new to you and your friends. And maybe the popularity is in a different part of the country. Go to the social security website and you can see how popular a name was the year before.

Its a beautiful name although I think recently Ella has become very popular. For something a little different, how about Bella Grace.

It's an adorable name. And it will grow up nicely along with the girl (from cute to adult "cute"). It may be popular, but that's no reason to not pick a name that you like, especially if you don't know an Ella.

Funny, my sister named her daughter Ella and I just named my baby girl Mary Grace. They are pretty together though, maybe getting a little popular.
