Say I wanted to try out for soccer in August for my school- i'm pretty good, but I haven't played in awhile, and don't know any fancy tricks- which one should I try out for?

Well, if you're going to be a freshman in high school and you're an okay player then junior varsity would probably be good for you. If you're going to be a sophmore then junior varsity would also be okay but it is not uncommon for sophmores to get moved up to the varsity level.

Also, most high schools have all freshman teams, which are even lower than junior varsity. Either way, varsity is all the matters and if you keep working you'll be there one day.

Varsity is better, and you don't need to know any 'fancy tricks' to play soccer, sure it helps in tight spots but be creative. Watch this video and it will show you some moves, It's a cheat video for a FIFA '07 game but it shows the moves well.

junior varsity is for players that r getting ready for varsity. and varsity is what colleges look at for scholarshiups

Here's the deal=

JV= Freshmen-juniors (ok skill)
varsity= sophomores-seniors (best of the best)

varsity would be the major leage and jv is the minor league.
you can work hard and get to varsity
