I'd need a picture of you first. Hair cuts are good. Bangs are becoming an "in" thing, like long, off to the side bangs. What's your style now? What year are you in school?

Whoa, hold up!
The worst thing you could do is to copy someone else's style, or copy something out of a magazine. You need to be yourself, and you can be a more extreme or more "out-there" version of yourself without making drastic changes.

A haircut is definitely a good idea; go to a proper stylist and ask for a cut consultation about what style would suit your face shape - bangs don't suit everyone but they are "in" now. Request a low maintenance cut, nothing drastic, and ask the stylist to show you an easy way you can style the cut at home just with a blow dryer/straightener. Then you can copy the style and look like you've just come from the salon on your first day of school!

As for clothes and jewellery, pick a few items from your existing wardrobe and sort them into what you like and what you don't like... then look at the two sides and ask yourself WHY you like/don't like these items. You'll find that they fall into similar categories; maybe the things you like are all bright colours, or the things you don't like are all loose-fitting.

Then go back through recent photos of yourself and decide which photos you look the best in... again ask yourself why. Sometimes it's cause you're smiling nicely, but a few of them will be because a top you are wearing is flattering, or the blue earrings bring out your eyes.

Now when you're shopping for a new outfit/wardrobe for school, you can think about which styles you like, which colours suit you, and also what you want the end result to be!
Remember, don't buy or wear anything that is uncomfortable, the wrong size, or feels "wrong" on you. You should always wear things you like and don't try to fit in with a trend or copy other people at school. And even if you're wearing a pretty standard sort of outfit, you can make it unique by wearing a cool pair of earrings, a necklace, or a brooch/badges/pin.

Lastly, what about starting your own quirky trend, that people can recognise you by?
My best friend collects cameos (those vintage carved shell brooches) and pairs them with cute cardigans and tunic dresses.
I also know a girl at my school who has what seems like a million different hair ribbons; every outfit she wears a different one woven into her braids. I've often seen people copy her hair, which means she gets noticed!

Whatever you do, GOOD LUCK! =)
And sorry about the long answer; but I hope I've helped.

OK, there's a lot of information I don't know about you in order to give you an acurrate answer, but one thing that really catches people's eyes is chic, classy, high profile clothing. Now I'm not saying you need to fork out 2,000 dollars and go to New York's top stores, but go to the mall and look around. Wedges are in this year and you can't go wrong with a cute little polka dot top with a belt around it. Buy some cute heels or wedges with little bows on the front, and crop jackets are really cute over a sexy tank top. Experiment with lots of fun colors and some jewelry that really stands out. Have fun with fashion!!! Also, as far as makeup goes, I would stay away from eyeliner. What you really need to make the eyes stand out is big, full lashes. My favorite mascara is Maybelline Volume Express Turbo Boost Mascara #7. You should also were blush. What color you should use depends on your skin tone. If you have light skin like me you should use Covergirl brand of just regular blush, no creams or anything fancy, the color is Snow Plum. Also a BIG reminder, always always always pluck those eyebrows!!!! You don't want to look in the mirror and have big monster eyebrows growling at you!!! As far as hair goes, I don't know what your hair looks like now, but just look up the latest looks on the internet, print out the picture of the hair you want and take it to your hair stylest. Also make sure to ask her how to style your haircut so that it always looks it's best. Oh yeah, and for the first day of school don't overdue the outfit. Wear something pretty enough for some head turns, but then really blow them away for the future school days ahead. I really hope this helps you!!!! Good luck!!!

A new hairstyle is always a good change. Splurge a little and get it done somewhere good. A change to your style is always a plus..but most importantly be sure that whatever you chose to change still makes you feel both comfortable and confident. Your confidence & attitude are the things that will always get you noticed and make a lasting impression regardless of what the trend is. A smile is the bset thing you can do for your look. So be sure that when you are considering your new look you invest in a killer lipgloss and a tooth whitener.

1] color, length, texture of hair? If you are brown, add some gold or copper highlights.
Or, cut your hair into layers, chin to shoulder length.
Or, go from straight to curly/curly to straight.
2] really work on your skin, so it's perfect.
a] use the facewash, toner, sunscreen, and moisturizer fro your skin type. Use wash, toner, and sunscreen in AM, and wash toner, and moisturizer in PM. Apply acne cream to any spots.
b] avoid fried, fast, and junk foods - even diet junk foods.
c] drink 1/2 gallon of water a day
d] take a good multivitamin with minerals every day - a little bit of some nutrients makes a big difference!
Work your body!
a] do 3 sets each of 10 reps of pushups, situps, obliques, and crunches every day, forever! Will make you look good, and keep your back and shoulders strong so you look good at 80!
b] do aerobic exercise at least three times a week - six times if trying to lose weight [ walk, swin, dance, bike, run ]
Colors!
Do you look better in WARM colors -
ivory, tomato red.peach, orange, rust, golden yellow, lime, kelly, or olive green, aqua, turquoise, or teal, bright purple, caramel, coffee brown, and gold jewelry?
Or COOL colors -
white, pinks, raspberry, cherry red, coral, lemon yellow, mint, jade, or pine green, baby, royal, and navy blue, lavender, eggplant, gray, black, and silver jewelry?
Choose wardrobe and makeup colors from your group. Try to put pastels or brights near your face for best flattery. If you do wear a neutral near your shirt, be sure to add a bright lip color, or your jewlry in a necklace or earrings.
Buy and wear what looks good on you, not just stuff that's 'in' or 'trendy' right now.
If you normally wear jeans, wear a skirt, or slacks and a jacket.
If you usually wear printed tops, buy some blouses, girly tanks, and fitted dress Ts.
Buy some comfy girly shoes - ballet flats, feminine slip-ons,
embellished flip flops.
Do hair so it's not the same two days in a row - loose, top pulled back, braid, low ponytail, high on head braid or ponytail, headband, etc.
Good luck, and have fun!

first of all, dont stress out! everyone is worried about the same things. even I am!
1. start going to gyms. even if you arent overweight, everyone loves a little muscle.
2. haircut. if you have long hair, cut it shoulder-legnth. layer it. add highlights. add curls. (not perm-like curls... the ones you get from a curling iron)
3. capris are always a good choice for the first day of school. add a tee, but not the kind you wear on saturdays while you are watching tv. dont make it too preppy, though.

Kinda hard to answer this question when I don't know what you look like but you could try the less drastic measures of styling your hair differently or changing your make-up. At least if you don't like them, they're not permanent. Use pictures from magazines as inspiration.

well you can get highlights or a hair style which you've never had before. for example try getting bangs. on the first day of school, wear something different than your usual style. be confident & proud. smile :) people will definitely notice you, in a good way. lol

Try make-up, and if you don't know how, you can type it in google, or in about.com, or experiment with your hair and see what style that you think of that you like (ex. if you've always had str8 hair, get a good curling iron and use it).
Wear what makes you feel comfortable, look in the stores and find something you like. If you like to sew, you could even make your own clothes.
