I am doing a dressage show that is a Halloween dressage show. I ride a 15 hh haflinger. Any ideas for a costume? ANYTHING! I was thinking of a patriotic theme. Maybe? It is just intro B and training 1 (walk, trot, canter, free walk). Thank you! Money is not an object.

Well depending on if your horse is a mare or gelding you could do several different things. The patriotic theme would be neat but, I think a fairy theme would be neat- you could have flowing lace come off of you and your horse could be a fantasy unicorn or something. Anyways - check out these sites they may give you an idea and good luck.. <3

Go Dressage!
Anyways, there are lots of very cute polo wraps that you can use, what I would do(I go a little overboard though) is find some zebra or leopard polo wraps and saddle pad and then buy black and white(or brown or whatever depending on what you do) "Twinkle" glitter(glitter that's safe for you and your horse, though keep it away from the eyes.) and hoof polish, then do zebra stripes(or whatever) on your horse's hindquarters and shoulders(this is when arty friends are good people to have around). Wear the regular dressage outfit, or wear an arabian show shirt, if you're at a schooling show.
Email me for more ideas!

I went as the Headless Horseman one time, I had an EXCELLENT costume! I'll try to describe it...

I had a black cape that had a stand-up collar (like a Mandarin collar) and it was long enough to fall to the horse's back. I dressed all in black, including a black turtleneck. I tied the cape over my head and then I took a sheer black scarf and tucked it into my turtleneck, then ran it up over my face and tucked it into a hairband. It completely covered my face yet I could see perfectly well. Then I carried a plastic pumpkin Jack O' Lantern! We won first prize!

You buy a full body blanket for the horse( they have flag ones..red, white and blue) and then you could wear a top hat with tails and such and do the dressage, to "proud to be an American "(song) Or a President with the flag..or even a civil war soldier..Good luck:>

If you want to do a patriotic theme, you could color his tail red, white & blue in 3 sections, & color his mane red, white & blue in little alternating sections, & put white glitter stars on his rump & shoulder. I'm sure you could find a red white & blue saddle pad, & you should dress up in an old calvary uniform, & you can carry the flag on a stick. (maybe not the last, depends on your horse!!)

good luck!!

The absolute nice technique to flip him on is to shock him. Make the transfer on him in an distinct situation or environment. Break any scheduling conduct you will have additionally. The extra you speak approximately it, he'll on the whole develop uncomfortable. If you play the feminist factor of view...He isn't going to head for it.

Headless horseman??? Hmm perhaps have a massive cape that goes from the top of your helmet and over your horse's rump (if it is quiet that is) and have a fitted hole (if you could call it that) for your face. Expand on that???

Otherwise you COULD be a turkey or a pumpkin... ; )

I saw a person dress up thier horse as a person once. That person dressed up as a horse- it was quite hilarious. I have NO idea how they did it, though.

You could be Uncle Sam...and your horse could be...a flag? Full body blanket, as some have said?

Hope I helped!

How about a wig like the first few presidents wore? Possibly find an outfitter to dress your horse in a type of robe they wore back then as well
