When I'm reading something online (such as in forums) or on the computer, I'd have to go with popcorn, chips, cookies, or candy. However, if I'm reading a book or magazine, ocasionally some kind of wrapped candy. But usually nothing at all.
Reading online or just on the computer, I can use one hand to operate the mouse and the other I can grab stuff with. But I'm more concerned with messing up the pages in books or magazines. Which is why the occasional wrapped candy, pretty much something I can have something between my fingers and the candy. Nine times out of ten, however, I don't eat anything when I'm reading a book or magazine.

A good book deserves good chocolate. I also like to have a glass of water nearby. Herbal tea or hot chocolate to drink if it is cold out. If I sit at the table to eat a meal I pretty much always have a book or magazine to read. Just keep the book on the far side of your dish & everything should stay clean - unless it's a soup or tomato sauce based meal - then just read a mag.

Chocolates, but I prefer not to eat anything. I cannot fully concentrate on my the reading if i ma eating.
I love eating as much as I do reading. So there is a lot of confusion.

I, too, am weird about getting my books "yucky." I generally read in bed, and I don't want crumbs or anything in bed. However, if I eat anything, it's usually bite-sized Jolly Ranchers ("Fire" flavor) or sometimes I'll suck on a Tootsie Pop. I like to have a bottle of water with me, but sometimes I'll drink green tea. It just depends on my mood and what I'm reading!

Most anything. That's why I gained so much weight when I went to college. But for light reading, I'm just a drinker. Mix a stong powdered milk & water over ice. Then pour in a diet soda. It's a fat free, sugar free ice cream soda. Trust me, it's not bad for a constant dieter. . .

I try not to make a practice to eat while I read or watch TV. Occassionally, however, I will nibble. When I do, I reach for a piece of fruit or a handful of mixed nuts.

Chocolate, but I like toast because you don't have to pay attention to your eating. Granola bars and sandwiches are also usually okay, if a little messy. Soup is a pain to read with.

I don't like to eat while I read. It's too distracting and it messes up the pages (I'm a bit weird like that...I don't like books getting messed up), so normally I just have something to drink--a bottle of water, a cup of juice or soda.
