How many ounces of water must be added to 20 ounces of an 8% salt solution to make a 2% salt solution?

Ashley, lay off those Eubonic textbooks.

For the water problem, your basic equation is
Mass of salt = [Volume solution x percent salt at end]= SUM(volumes x percent salt)
You should learn to explictly state your equation.
V1=20 ounces
percent 1= 8%
V2= x ounces
percent 2= 0
Final volume = 20+x
percent final= 2%
From equation 2*(20+x) = 20*8 + [0]
Finally, x= 60 ounces.
