I'm Jamaican and i want to know what other Jamaicans and other people are doing to help stop global warming. You know every little thing helps, even if it is just 1 percent of your daily life, it still helps because after a year if you would add up that 1 percent it would turn into alot.

Yes, it would matter if we had done something 25-30 years ago. I am worried because a growing group of scientists say that some global warming is unavoidable. Others say that it is part of a naturally occurring cycle. Is it arrogant to believe that if I stop having weekly camp fires in my yard that somehow I can help to stop global warming? Fine assume I stopped for a second....won't the hugely increasing pollution coming out of China way more than make up for whatever our much smaller country does to try and slow down (because the scientist with the best methods and backgrounds say we cannot reverse it anymore). So do the hyper pollution coming out of the third world because they can't possibly afford to go green. It is in many ways a total scam. and if you look into it, some people are making money off of the go green movement. After all, this is America. We pay huge amt. of $ for freaking bottled water that costs 1 and a half cents to create. Amazing. Maybe if we all joined hands and sang a song for cooling the earth down, huh, huh? Sorry, but we here in Western New York have long ago lost three fourths of our heavy polluting industry. And you know what? The world warmed up any ways.

As a Jamaican, what can I really do to stop global warming? There are very limited options available to us. We have very few, if any recycling plants. Jamaican population on a whole is not properly educated on the issue. Remember that stupid campaign encouraging everyone to buy a diesel vehicle? The person who came up with that bright idea needs a hit in the head. Who not driving a big truck-sized SUV is driving a pop-down car that putting more carbon dioxide in the air than anything else.

I don't think at this late stage there is anything anyone can do about global warming. It has already started to take effect. I don't agree that this is part of a natural cycle, simply because changes are happening way to quick. The ice caps are melting rapidly. A huge chunk of Antarctica fell into the ocean the other day. The days are getting hotter - this summer has been unbearbly hot, hotter than normal. The sky don't even look as blue as it used to. Too late to do anything, especially when the majority of the world is in denial. 200 yrs of damage can't be undone in less than ten.

We know what help for stopping global warming but so pity that we just know the way. The important thing is doing it. Nothing change if we keep talking but do nothing.

Start from small stuff, would help a lot for our world.

I just read about this website on the Wall Street Journal: Carbon Diet Plan. It is an application that can put us on a 'carbon diet'. As an individual and friends, we can make an impact on global warming 1 lb at a time.

Fluorescent bulbs, no aerosols whatsoever, less paper, using solar energy, recycling grey water for plants and animals etc etc

I watched it online.

I will have to disagree with the above answerer, i don't think its hotter than usual this summer at all, don't watch the name

Well, we stared changing all our light bulbs into a compact floresence. I just purchase reusable shopping bags so we could start using them instead of plastic bags, we also purchase alluminum bottle instead of buying bottled water. We will also start bringing our own coffee mug to starbucks. We will continue to recycle, adjusted the thermostat to the recommended temperature and we also started using Method products.

Unless you can stop volcanoes from erupting and stop cows from farting and stop humans from breathing, there is nothing you can do to stop it. The weather goes in cycles. It will continue to go in cycles even if the human race did not exist. It went in cycles before us, and it will go in cycles when we're extinct. So quit wasting your time worrying about global warming. You can stop it about as easily as you can stop plate tectonics.
