Ok, I work at a local grocery store, am in college, and support myself best I can. I have done right as a young American(at least I thought) by graduating out of highschool and moving on to college. Not bringing any children into the world that I cannot support, not expecting our-all-so-giving taxpayers to foot the bill. However I have seen somthing disgraceful. In working in a grocery store, I see many people. Most hard working Americans trying to feed their families and budgeting what money they have. Although recently I am appalled at what is going on!!! These young AND old women and MEN flaunting their most expensive brands of groceries and paying with FOODSTAMPS!!!! Wouldn't be a problem, but this individuals have no problem affording the new LG Chocolate phone, and adorning themselves in gold rings and all. Then there is the all so gr8 WIC. Yep, pop out those babies and you get even MORE FREEBIES!!!

Just this past week I had a woman come in, go through the drama of the WIC(which HAS to be perfect) and she had picked up the wrong stuff. While a bagger was helping get the right items, she bragged to me about how "she didnt't know tht in 5 yrs they had changed all of it(the last time she was on the program)". She then bought a bunch of stuff tht I couldn't afford if I wanted, and actually had the nerve to complain she was overcharged!!! She had freakin' paid with Foodstamps!!! Hadn't actually bought one thing!!! I DID!!! And all other hard working tax payers!!! While waiting, she also told the person behind her how great of time she had while spending the holiday @ a resort!!! So, you can't afford to feed those babies you make, but you can go have a h*** of a good time on the lake!?!?! WHAT!?!?! AT MY DIME?!!?!? We need a BIG change FAST!!! And go on the website, and you'll see it is in Spanish as well!!! Tht is the way to do it!!! Feed all the illegals too!!!

I would deny no one with a valid need the food to feed themselves and their children - unfortunately, each welfare policy or handout that's developed for this purpose is exploited by people who have no self esteem, human dignity or compassion for the ones who really need the assistance that they are stealing.
I have personally reported an obvious parasite who was milking the system, and nothing came of it. Perhaps, like our infamous INS, they are under staffed.
You can be proud of your accomplishments and self supporting dignity - and simply let these dirt bags wallow in their ignorance, fraud and corruption. I, too, would rather work in a grocery store than vacation on stolen services.

Pilgrim, you were doing so well and then you had to end a good response with Ron Paul.

To answer your question; you are learning the way of America. This is what we do to solve social problems???It creates more problems than it solves.
Our congress thinks it is so great and we simply don't understand. WE UNDERSTAND!!! Congress -for the most part- doesn't understand that they are the problem.
Congrats, you are learning what liberalism is all about.
"what's yours is mine and what's mine is mine, too" Conservative congressmen -women- aren't far behind. We need to turn that bunch over. Get rid of the lifers and put in some realistic thinkers. Get back to congressmen who are more interested in the country than themselves.

That is soooo sad. I used to work at a back up cashier, and on a busy night, i was called up to run the cash register, and this lady who was sporting diamond rings, earrings, and gold chains had a little over $700 on her Ohio card, and she had 2 carts of groceries. 1 cart was mostly meat (steaks, chicken, lobster tails, etc.) And the other cart had tons of other food, and she tried to get over $400 in free groceries. She tried to void out the transaction by pressing cancel instead of pressing enter. Anyways, I told her that she accidentally hit cancel, and she got mad at me. She threw a small plant at me, and she went to complain to my boss. The boss did nothing to me because he knew I was in the right. That stuff just broils my blood because they can get all that help and be so mean and hateful.

I feel your pain sweetie, just hang in there and you will be the better person in the long run. You have what it takes to survive and you will always be above those people who have nothing better to do than spread their legs and have kids so we can support them too!

AS george carlin says, someone breaks into your house, starts cleaning it, and you have to buy them food, and put them on your insurance, and thats fine and all, except for the whole breaking into your house thing.

Disturbing isn't it. How about the drug addicts who sell their food stamps for cash? I recently saw a man in line at the checkout using the cash benefits portion of his food stamps to buy cigarettes and lottery tickets. As a teenager I worked at a grocery store and saw the same thing.

Perhaps nobody ever told you, but you're going to encounter evil in this world.

Just stay on track.

If everybody lived like you, the world would be a better place.

Keep on being part of the solution, pray for those who are part of the problem.

And, vote for Ron Paul.
