Do you think that one day every guitar riff, lyric, poem, novel idea, movie script, painting idea, EVERY IDEA will be already used?

if all these companies would stop patenting things, maybe new ideas would come out because right now ideas are stifled because of the fear of patent or copyright infringement.
look at computer technology...only a few companies control the market and if anyone takes their idea and improves upon it, it is taken to court, the person or small business is bankrupted into releasing the idea back to the major controlling companies.
Hey, did you know that there was a 100MPG CARBURATOR?? Yep, a full size, 8 cylinder, 3000 lb sedan from the late 70's early 80's was getting 100MPG.........not good business for the oil companies.......the person was given some "go away" money and was forced to sign a non-disclosure agreement to NEVER talk about it!
no, is the answer....new ideas will always come up whether it is improving something that already exists or creating something never heard of before......Better, Faster, Smaller!

I don't think so. For as long as there is modern progression in our society, all ideas would progress. At the medieval period, they wouldn't have the idea of a movie script, because there were no movies back then, so what's to script?

Not if the "New World Order" can help it! How about the idea of landing man on mars!? It appears no one is using that idea very much! So let's get with the ideas and start doing something about it! =<)

I'm not sure it's possible, but if the day comes, some will be so old that they will have been forgotten and be "new" again.
An old joke is still funny to someone who's hearing it for the first time.

It depends. I am sure that there are only so many combinations to everything, but I think that they will take a long time to come up with all of them. As long as people keep being original then I think that the boundaries are limitless.
