Taliban enslaves and kills people that do not agree with them.

Religious Right will do what, invite you to listen to them, but not enslave and kill you. Yes there is there a difference!! Fundamentalism is not fundamentalism where have you guys learned such nonsense? I assume after reading all of your comments I can see many cannot think or reason for themselves. That separates us form other animals the reasoning part.

Maybe it time for you younger types to sit down and discuss things with some of us older types who fought, killed, struggled and suffered so you can be stupid and not think for yourselves.

By the way women in black burka’s is a form of chains on a slave would you like to see women in America as slaves to men? Think about it.

Only that the Taliban was successful in taking over their country. If those of the "religious right" (a true oxymoron) came to power, had biblical laws and enforced those laws as prescribed by the bible, most (particularly women) wouldn't make it 60 seconds after leaving their front door. Of course, most of these crackpots have such a weak understanding of their own theology, this reality never occurs to them.

Under biblical law, one would be stoned to death for wearing clothes made with more than one kind of thread. Children would be stoned to death for simply disagreeing with a parent. Women would be stoned to death for speaking in a church. Think you're going to watch a sporting event on Sunday? Wrong! You would be stoned to death. The list goes on and on and on.

The religious right lets women be free thinkers and does not manipulate them.

The Taliban is pretending to be religious. They are murdering control freak facists with no tolerance.

Actually, no, not much. Most commentators call the right the Christian Taliban. They're not too far wrong.

This is a ridiculous question. Do you see any "religious right" people out in the street hitting other people with sticks because they are doing something against their religion? No. Have you had Christians come to your house and kill your family members because they saw you "sinning"? No. Christians share their faith with people who want to listen, they don't impose it on atheists. When are people going to understand that we Christians have as much right as anyone else to practice our faith? Your not a Christian hater by any chance, are you?

Your ill-liberal intolerance only exhibits the similarities between fundamentalist liberalism and the Taliban.

So far the Relig. Right is not promoting self annihilation, but they have sponsored terrorists in the form of clinic bombers and murderers of doctors and nurses. The RR has promoted hatred and eradication of gays. Jerry Falwell taught that the antichrist was here and he is a male Jew. That is a dangerous doctrine to push into the mind of some fanatic.
