I usually don't put on make up so I need some advice, how do you put on make up under your eyes so that it covers up the dark circles but doesn't look caked on?

I use a yellow-based concealer (a hard stick by Neutrogena) and wipe a little onto my ring-fingertip. It won't be caked on your fingertip - just enough so that you can still see your fingerprint. Then, starting at the outside of the under-eye, tap gently (don't rub), moving toward the inside of the eye (by your nose). If you wear any foundation, put the foundation on your face before putting on any concealer, and the two should blend nicely. Be sure the concealer goes all the way up to your lash-line. Seal with a light dusting of a light powder. If you notice as the day goes on that you get little lines under your eyes of the concealer, do the tapping motion with your ring-finger again and your clean finger will pick up part of that make-up line.

The key for concealer to be natural looking is to be sure it's not a wet product you're putting on. The eutrogena stick is perfect because when you can still see your fingerprint through the make-up while it's on your finger, as you're tapping it on you'll get a natural skin look, instead of a solid swipe of product. Good luck!

There are many causes of dark circles, from age, heredity, allergies, cold or sinus infection, bone structure and glasses which are not so commonly known.

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:
Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water & stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath & let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off.Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K & Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.

use a concealer that is a bit lighter than your skin tone and lightly dab it under your eyes, and around your eyes and eyelids. then find a light, loose powder (like bare minerals or even just almay) and lightly tap it under your eyes. you could also buy an eye brightener if you have really bad circles. putting a bit of white pearly eyeshadow around your tearducts opens your eyes a lot too. good luck!

I personally recommend Bare Minerals for dark circles....foundation just makes it look cakey and unnatural, but Bare Minerals REALLY does work. I started using it two years ago and am still using it. Try it out!! Good luck!
