If so,did you know that Molly Ringwalds character was originally supposed to end up with Duckie,not Blaine?
Director John Hughes claims Molly Ringwald started crying because she did not want to end up with the "nerd".So John Hughes re-wrote the end of the movie.
What do you think?Would the movie had been better if she had ended up with Duckie?

Although Duckie was emotionally dependent in an unhealthy way, and I don't think that would have been a better ending, I think it's absolutely awful that they caved to Ringwald's snobbishness that way.

No I didn't know that and no I don't think the movie would have been better if she ended up with Duckie. I LOVE that movie and I think the ending was perfect! She never liked Duckie "like that" throughout the entire movie...she only loved him as a friend. It would have been weird if she ended up with Duckie.

It would not have been the ending people wanted. Besides, Duckie got someone who (in my opinion) was better than Molly

Duckie's hopeless love for her is one of the main ingredients of the movie as some people in such situation could relate themselves to. I would say I like the movie the way it is. A classic. And so is the soundtrack

i think it would have been a typical high school movie if duckie "the nerd/best friend" ended up with with her
although i still felt really bad for duckie..but the pretty girl calling him was a great ending for his character
i think its a great movie..you cant improve a classic!

it was a great movie and i don't think it would have been the same if she would have ended up with duckie. when i first saw it i thought she should have but now that i think about it, it wouldn't really be the same.

I think it seemed to point in that direction, and you were expecting to see her end up with the richie. I think it was cool that Duckie ended up with someone hot.
