What'd you do?
Happened to me once, tried to find a towel in the back of the car, ended up driving into incoming traffic, how i missed hitting anyone is BEYOND me...

for the record, spiders generally don't bother me either, but i don't want one coming at me while i drive....

Dude, that would suck! I have never had it happen to me but wow, what a serious dilemma. If the spider was small I would be o.k. but if it was a black widow I would sh** myself.
All you people who say "spiders don't bother me" are mostly full of it.

I had a similar experience but all started one night when I went to my car and I saw a spider the side of my hand and freaked out. The next day I saw one on my steering wheel and pulled over and killed it. Then later on that day ANOTHER spider started doing down from a web RIGHT INFRONT OF MY FACE WHILE I WAS DRIVING (he came from roof down). I freaked out and slammbed on breaks on a country road and jumped out of the car, at that time he had dropped on my lap. I was so paranoid and the NEXT day ANOTHER ONE WAS ON MY SEAT WHILE I WAS DRIVING. Once again I freaked out and pulled over and I couldn't find it. That was the worst few days of my life, I was so scared to drive my car for weeks but that was a couple months ago and nothing happened yet thankfully. I diddnt know what the hell was going on. I have a HUGE fear of spiders btw, big or small I don't care.

Had one on my steering wheel that I noticed while doing 55 on A1A. Slammed on the brakes, pulled over, jumped out, I think I screamed and took off my shoe and tried to kill it but it got away and I drove the rest of the way to work (like 15 minutes) in fear the spider was going to sneak out and bite my foot or something. When I got to work I had the maintenance department douse my car with about a gallon of pesticides.

Yeah...I freaked out a little, but I managed to kill it without swerving my car. How, I'm not really sure...all I know, was that I paranoid for the rest of the time I was in the car.

Yes. I am right there with you. It's a scary thing. You kind of freak out then once you find it, it's fine.

yes and since i am deathly afraid of sp----- (cant even type the word) i cant believe i didnt drive my car off the road...still get chills thinking about it

No, but a bee hit my window & fell in between my legs!! I almost crashed & was screaming!! It was dead from impact though!!!
